Three Acre Permaculture

Presentation: How To Incorporate Permaculture Into Your Life Today

In this half hour presentation, permaculture facilitator Michael Schimp (he/they) will provide an overview of what permaculture is, and how it applies to more than just the land around you. You’ll be introduced to practical ways to deepen your connection to yourself, your relationships, your community, and your local ecosystem.

Michael is an avid gardener who teaches people about permaculture, social permaculture, and living more ecologically. He’s the co-founder of Three Acre Permaculture, a demonstration and education centre near Bothwell, Ontario, where they offer Permaculture Design Certificate courses and hands-on gardening programs.

This talk offers a lens through which you can begin to interact with the world in a lighter, slower, more connected way.

Meet Michael:

From his first childhood forays making gardens in rented backyards to a lifelong fascination with the way humans interact with each other, plants, and the environment, Michael Schimp (he/they) has always been on the path to permaculture.

In 2005, he completed the Ecovillage Permaculture Certificate Program at Lost Valley in Oregon. This program included permaculture design, advanced permaculture design, and ecovillage design. After guest teaching at other PDCs, Michael completed a permaculture teacher training program in 2017.

In 2018, Michael co-founded Three Acre Permaculture, a demonstration and education centre near Bothwell, Ontario, where they offer Permaculture Design Certificate courses and hands-on gardening programs.

Michael founded and designed a community garden in Guelph and was a founding member of the Guelph Seed Library. He created and operated a successful eco-gardening company in Toronto until his move to Three Acre Permaculture.

When his hands aren’t in the earth, they’re making food, playing music, creating art, or hugging his loved ones.
