Chad Ballantyne

Tiny Town Association

The Tiny Town Association has been working on affordable living projects across the province. In this presentation, they will share their research around full development builds, case studies from other countries, and the ingredients to a successful tiny home community.

Meet Chad:

Chad is an ideation activist. His passion for community building and seeing social and cultural change has led him to join the TTA team.

He’s spent the last 30 years of his life in some form of creative communications as a speaker, musician, producer, and designer. He’s now the Creative Director of Rhubarb Media, a design studio started in Barrie in 2006 and is the “Tummler” at Simcoe County’s first rural coworking space, called Canopy Coworking.  Chad has helped create spaces for freelancers, startups and other digital nomads since 2009.

He has spent the last 6 years researching affordable hosing solutions to help the most vulnerable and eventually partnered with TTA to focus on multi-tiny home developments and pocket neighbourhoods working with municipalities to provide forever affordable housing for their citizens in need.

Chad’s passion is to help others do what makes them come alive. He has a strong desire to see social change in local communities and through his work Rhubarb Media and Coworking has mentored hundreds of startups and helped numerous social organizations thrive.
